Why should I use Fibrofor in concrete and mortar?
Fibrofor improves the characteristics of concrete and because of the increased flexural strength compared to conventionally reinforced concrete the need for steel reinforcements and steel fibers can be reduced or even entirely eliminated by using Fibrofor High Grade.
Where can I achieve profitable solutions with Fibrofor on the basis of its technical characteristics?
Reinforced concrete construction, prefabricated reinforced concrete elements, industrial hall floors, concrete roadways, garage floors, foundation slabs, basement walls, concrete wall constructions, special concrete types (shotcrete, concrete structures exposed to fire risk), mortars and plaster coats.
How high is the Fibrofor addition rate?
As a rule, one kilogram of Fibrofor per cubic metre of concrete will suffice (exception: shotcrete) in order to improve the product structure significantly.
One kg/m3 Fibrofor High Grade allows about the same flexural strength values to be achieved as with 20 – 25 kg/m3 steel fibers.
What characteristics of the concrete are improved by the addition of Fibrofor?
Flexural strength, shrinkage characteristics, frost-thaw-salt resistance, sulphate resistance, impact resistance, wear resistance, water absorption, fire resistance.
Is the effectiveness of concrete additives influenced by Fibrofor?
Since Fibrofor is an inert material, the effectiveness of all chemical concrete additives will be maintained.
Is the use of Fibrofor environmentally friendly?
Yes, it is; the fibers consist of pure polyolefins and are therefore ecologically neutral.
What happens in the event of a fire?
The gases released during combustion can be considered toxicologically safe.
Does the addition of Fibrofor modify the consistency of the concrete?
Yes, it does; the consistency of the concrete is reduced. This means the concrete becomes stiffer and, depending on its use with concrete plasticiser or liquefier, is optimised (avoid addition of more water).
Is any subsequent treatment of the concrete necessary?
Careful final treatment in compliance with the applicable standards must be ensured even when using Fibrofor.
